Aggression – Did you know?

December 14, 2016 by ScholarOwner

More often than not, aggressive behaviours like barking, lunging, growling, snapping, and even biting are expressions of fear. Some fearful dogs hide or run away. Others have learned that big, scary displays make the thing they want distance from move away from them.

While this can be an effective strategy for a dog, it’s certainly not safe or socially acceptable. Aggressive dogs, whatever their motivation, are also stressful to live with. Whether your dog is showing signs of aggression toward other dogs, strangers, or family members, the earlier you seek help the better, as aggressive behaviour displays generally grow worse over time.
