For personalising your Canine Scholar's education

At times, a busy schedule means it is impossible to make it to class week after week – that’s why we have workshops. Workshops allow you to focus on one area of training with your canine companion as you see fit.

All year round

Individual workshops run intermittently throughout the year at our indoor venues. Rain, hail or shine, we can safely train regardless!

Create your own curriculum by attending one workshop on the behaviour you want to focus on, or attend many with your Canine Scholar.

Very small group numbers

Our workshops are capped at three to five dogs per workshop (two qualified instructors per five dogs, or one qualified instructor and an assistant per three dogs). This enables us to meet your training goals through personalised training in the group environment, as well as provide the one on one attention your dog needs.

Highly qualified professional instructors

All Scholars in Collars instructors are highly credentialed professional dog trainers, with the added bonus of many years of experience. We share a dedication to continued professional education, positive training results, and positive training experiences – for humans and dogs!

Really Reliable Recall

Dog not coming when called? You're not alone! Recall is one of the most highly desired and least often accomplished training goals. The good news? A really reliable recall is actually simple to train. It's just a matter of knowing the rules and practicing them effectively. We'll teach you how to do just that in our recall workshop. Learn fun recall practice games, vital recall tips, and how to win out over distractions to get a quick response from your dog no matter the situation.

Meeting Manners

Tired of your dog jumping to greet people, or plowing in to make new dog friends? This workshop will teach your dog to be calm in the presence of other dogs and wait to say hello, and then do so with grace – or simply walk on by! They will learn to greet people and fellow dogs politely on cue without the chaos, or when it’s not a good time be able to walk on by happily focused on you.

Dreaming of a dog who walks comfortably alongside you on walks? No matter your dogs dedication to pulling, they really can learn to walk nicely by your side – and to enjoy themselves while doing so. Un-Chase!®

Does your dog like to chase? Scholars in Collars have just the solution! Licensed to provide you the admirable UnChase!® programs, this workshop will give you the skills to teach your dog self-control in the presence of their chase triggers. Whether it be cars, cyclists, livestock, wildlife or fellow family pets we can help you accomplish a harmonious household and better safety for all, as well as more relaxing living and peace of mind for you and your family.

Calm. Controlled. Centred.

Living with an excitable, active or reactive dog? One who becomes over excited when you get ready for a walk, who whines in the car or while you’re out and about, knocks visitors over with exuberant enthusiasm, becomes frantic when watching other dogs play, can’t contain themselves when walking past dogs in the street or barks at you for attention? This workshop is definitely for you. Your dog has the ability to learn the art of relaxation, and become calm, controlled and centred in the face of all things exciting – and we will teach you how to get them there.
